i like a full plate, metaphorically and literally

Monday, September 28th, 2009

My boyfriend thinks I’m insane because I wake up at 7am to workout. And every morning when the alarm wakes me up I reminded of how right he is. But honestly, if I didn’t wake up at the butt-crack of dawn there would be absolutely no way for me to get everything done! I will admit it – I like a full plate. I work full-time on a computer only to go home and do freelance work on a computer and then somehow squeeze in enough time to continue learning web-design through online courses – yes, on a computer. In fact, it seems that lately the only time I’m NOT on the computer is to eat, sleep and play music.

On top of all of that, I LOVE to cook (eat) and I usually make a semi-elaborate meal at least once a day. This may also be of some concern to those already questioning my sanity. And to them I reply that it is a great stress reliever and it is actually fun for me. I like planning out menus, watching the Food Network, creating new recipes and even shopping for groceries. I guess most 25-year old women would not enjoy playing house in that way but then again I am not your average 25-year old woman.

So yes, I get up at 6am to run. (ok – 11am on weekends lol) I get grocery shopping out of the way on lunch breaks. I sometimes even cook meals the day before I serve them. The rest is just about having the willpower to stay true to the priorities I’ve set for myself when I would really rather be watching my newest addiction, The Biggest Loser.
