Andrew Bird @ Greek Theater

Thanks to Filter Magazine for giving away tickets to this awesome show (and especially for giving them to me!) This will be a night of firsts – first time seeing Andrew Bird live, and first time visiting the Greek Theater (I’ve only driven past).

Echo Park Community Festival 09 AKA (non-Lotus Blossom Festival)

Just found out (thanks to LA Weekly’s tweet) that the Lotus Blossom Festival is happening this year in Park, except this year it is named Echo Park Community Festival.  Not only will there be the usual food and trinket vendors, but this is your chance to finally see the LA Ladies Choir with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers on bass!

Free Slurpee Day!

The forecast this weekend is in the high 80′s, which for most native Californians means it’s scorcher. I know where I will be – at the beach, free slurpee in hand. Thanks to this guy for finding a list of participating stores so you can plan a stop en-route to your weekend summer festivities.

American Apparel Rummage Sale

If you are like me, then you probably find it hard to spend $35 on a blank tank top just because it’s “this really awesome purple color.”  You might also resort to buying American Apparel clothing at outlets or in the form of homemade Tegan and Sara shirts from Crossroads.  However, you have a chance to get some decent deals if you check out the rummage sales Echo Park and Los Feliz locations tomorrow!

Renegade Craft Fair

Described as a “unique, DIY event showcasing over 300 of the most talented Artists + Crafters around.” Pick up some awesome items like a Chalkboard Tee or recycle your old clothes into some new and unique at the Swap-O-Rama.
