Avon Walk Fundraising Goal Reached!

The Avon Walk fundraiser I hosted at Silverlake Wine last week was a huge success!  I raised just enough to surpass my fundraising goal of $1800.  Silverlake Wine was a wonderful location to host a fundraiser.  Everyone really enjoyed tasting the wine and eating the cheese and other hors d’oeuvres from The Cheese Store.

Thanks to all of the generous local businesses that donated products and gift certificates for the silent auction and helping to make for a very interesting and fun event.  We also gave away some fun raffle prizes like Starbucks Coffee and pizza from Nicky D’s.  When my good friend won the first giveaway I was jokingly accused of rigging the raffle drawing.  Naturally, I decided to quiet everyone’s anxiety by letting someone else do the next one.  It was pretty funny when Shane ended up drawing his own name for the free pizza.

I also want to send a big thank you to everyone who attended the event and started bidding wars for the massage from Raven Spa and the “seductive” tea set.  I also want to thank those who were not able to attend, but who donated directly to my Avon Walk page.

Only two and a half weeks left until the walk, and even though I’ve successfully raised my goal amount of donations, I’m still managing to stay busy.  In addition to training almost every day, I’ve volunteered to design and coordinate the creation of team shirts for this year’s “Every Three Minutes” team members.  I will post pictures of the shirts as soon as they are done.
